This coffee comes from CAFESMO and the El Pinal farming community in the mountainous region of Honduras. Honduras is one of the largest arabica producers in the world, yet rarely celebrated for quality. The farmers here face real pressure: poverty, migration and cross-border crime. Yet El Pinal is a tight-knit community of farmers and families who rely on each other and work together. High up in the mountains under the pine trees, Hidardo (see picture) and his team grow a washed arabica that is bolder and funkier than your typical Honduran coffee. Juicy, complex and full of character. Expect taste notes of dark chocolate, strawberry and caramel.

ORIGINAL
HOUSE BLEND.

This is Wakuli’s first and OG blend. 40% comes from small-scale Brazilian farmers in the hilly southeast of Minas Gerais. We work together with our partner Coopervass on direct export and "regenerative" coffee production. In southern Rwanda, farmers affiliated to the Kinazi washing station produce a fruity natural coffee that makes up 35% of the blend. The remaining 25% of your cup is from the Chajulense Association in Guatemala, with which we work together since 2021. The natural coffee from Brazil gives the coffee its chocolatey and nutty sweetness, while the beans from Rwanda and Guatemala provide the freshness and fruitiness. A well balanced, friendly coffee. Easy to love!

THE FUTURE
OF COFFEE.

We work directly with farmer groups  around the world and are building towards fully regenerative coffee production together with our partners. That means when you buy Wakuli, you can be sure that farmers are consistently well paid, the planet gets more love and you drink seriously good coffee. Coffee that's good for all.

SERIOUSLY GOOD
COFFEE FOR YOU.

All our coffee is specialty grade, which is the highest quality standard in the industry, defined by independent Q-graders. On top of that we roast lighter, so you taste more of what the coffee has to offer: funky, expressive flavours you won't find in your average bag. Think of taste notes like strawberry milkshake, chocolate chip cookies or peach iced tea.

And because specialty coffee tastes best fresh, we ship your coffee within one week of roasting, straight from our own roastery just north of Amsterdam. Seriously good coffee, delivered to your door.

FAQ

WE DO

Which brewing method is this coffee suitable for?

This is the ideal pack for filter coffee lovers. The beans in this pack are lighter-roasted to preserve their complex, sweet flavor profile.

Discover Monthly (Light Roast)
Perfect for all filter coffee. Use this for your Moccamaster, pour-over (V60), Chemex, French Press, or Aeropress.

Original House Blend
The ultimate all-rounder. This bean works for every brewing method: from a fruity filter coffee to a balanced espresso.

What is specialty coffee?

Specialty coffee is coffee of the highest quality, where the unique flavours of the coffee bean truly shine. The Specialty Coffee Association is an independent organisation that rates coffee beans on a scale from 1 to 100 through a process called cupping, which is a standardized method for evaluating coffee. Only coffee that scores above 80 can be sold as specialty coffee. Wakuli sells coffee that scores above 84, so all our coffee qualifies as specialty coffee.

What does lightly roasted coffee mean?

We source high-quality beans and want you to truly taste their distinct flavours. Supermarket coffee is often dark-roasted to create a uniform, bitter flavor that masks differences in quality. That’s why we roast a lot lighter than most coffees you’ll find in supermarkets or cafés. Even our darkest roast is relatively light compared to supermarket standards. Perfect for both espresso and filter coffee, without the bitter aftertaste.

How fresh is your coffee?

Fresh coffee is the most delicious. As a natural product, its delicate aromas and flavors can fade over time. You’ll quickly notice the difference between aged coffee and a fresh roast. That’s why coffee should be packed and delivered as soon as possible after roasting.

Coffee tastes best within 2 and 6 weeks of roasting. That’s why we ship our coffee within 7 days of roasting at the latest. Once it arrives, make sure to store it as airtight as possible to preserve its flavours and aromas.
