The coffee in our House Blend comes from our partners CAFESMO in Honduras (60%) and Coopervass in Brazil (40%) and is a real crowd pleaser. It's high quality specialty coffee, but it’s not too funky. It is sweet and silky, with taste notes of chocolate and citrus. A traditional tasting coffee. But just a lot better!
This month we are finally offering coffee from Timor Leste again. This young country gained independence from Indonesia a few years ago and earns most of its income from oil. It also produces very good coffee, which is a good thing. Because oil revenues are declining and so investments in other sources of income are needed. Together with our partner Raw Material, we support the development of specialty coffee processing -like improved sorting, fermentation and drying- while taking care that the beautiful, unspoiled nature around the Mota Bandeira waterfalls is preserved.
There is something completely wrong in the coffee industry. A handful of coffee giants control the coffee market, relying on low quality, unsustainable coffee, underpaying farmers and refusing to make a change. The result is Bad Coffee.
