9 Tips to brew a delicious cup of filter coffee

Tip 1: Use quality coffee beans

We recommend using specialty coffee beans. Specialty coffee beans are made from high-quality beans that have been carefully selected and roasted to highlight their unique flavors and aromas. Specialty coffee has a distinctive and complex flavor that is often described as fruity, chocolatey or nutty. This is because the beans are roasted to highlight their individual characteristics, rather than being roasted uniformly brown.

Tip 2: Use fresh coffee beans

Choose freshly ground coffee beans for brewing. This ensures a richer flavor and aroma.

Want the tastiest cup of coffee? Then use freshly roasted beans. You will notice the difference between fresh and less fresh coffee beans by the presence of strong aromas and a more complex taste in your filter coffee. Wakuli coffee is always at your home within 1 week of roasting.

Tip 3: Use hot but not boiling water

The water should be between 90 and 96 degrees Celsius when poured over the coffee beans. If the water is too hot, it can ruin the taste of the coffee. Boil the water and let it cool for 2 minutes or use a precise kettle.

Tip 4: Use the right amount of coffee

A good rule is to use about 1 tablespoon of coffee beans per 200 ml of water. Adjust the amount to taste.

Tip 5: Wash the filter and cup

Before you start brewing coffee, wash the filter. Also rinse the cup with hot water.

Tip 6: Don't forget about the blooming

A superb filter coffee requires blooming. Put the ground coffee in the wet filter. Then, pour 30 ml of water on the ground coffee and let it bloom for 30 sec.

Tip 7: Pour carefully

Start in the center and fill the filter with circular motions to just below the rim.

Tip 8: Don't let the water stand too long

Do not let the water stay over the coffee beans for too long, as the flavor may become bitter. Pour the water over the coffee beans all at once and then remove the filter.

Tip 9: Taste and adjust if necessary

Taste the coffee and adjust the amount of coffee or water to taste if necessary. This way, you can make the perfect cup of filter coffee for you!
