WHERE THIS COFFEE'S FROM.

Timor-Leste is one of the youngest countries in the world, gaining independence only in 2002 after decades of occupation and a brutal independence struggle. Coffee has been growing here for centuries, and for much of that time, it was grown semi-wild in communal forests, by farmers who had no real access to international markets. The conditions are extraordinary: high altitude, volcanic soil, ancient arabica genetics. The coffee has always been there. Getting it to you was the challenge.
